The Story So Far
The Fox & Hounds in Charwelton has been an inn since 1817 and has seen many changes to the village over the years. Refurbished in 2013 by the villagers, with a makeover in early 2016, the Fox & Hounds re-opened its doors on 29th February 2016.
We have an excellent team to provide our guests with the best possible service; front of house is headed by manager and ex-sommelier Dave, and the kitchen is run by head chef Sarah.
Quality is of prime importance to us in everything we do. We source a range of real ales, craft beers and ciders as well as an amazing selection of wines from top suppliers. Our kitchen uses the best produce and ingredients we can find from the best farms and artisan suppliers across the UK, and we only deal with people we like. Fish is delivered daily from Cornwall after being caught on day boats; meat is sourced from the some of the best farms in the UK; fresh fruit and vegetables arrive each day from the local market. Our menu changes organically to ensure we provide dishes that appeal to our clientele. On Sundays you can indulge in a proper roast dinner with all the trimmings.

Our ex-sommelier, Dave, prides himself on maintaining an exciting wine list picked from some of the best boutique vineyards in the world. We also have an interesting selection of craft beers, ciders and hand-pulled real ales.
A Fresh Take on Great British Food
We aim to provide you with a dining experience that keeps your taste buds on their toes. To create our menu we take inspiration from traditional British recipes and add a dash of European influence. Our food is cooked and served simply using the freshest, best quality ingredients, allowing the flavours of the food to dominate, enhanced by complimenting herbs and spices.
